I’m Shanta Islam, founder of Beyond Barriers, and this journey began long before the first child walked through our doors. It began in my own home, with my son. Like many parents, I faced a whirlwind of emotions when I first realized he was struggling in ways I couldn’t immediately understand. But with love, persistence, and the right guidance, I watched him overcome challenges and thrive—living a happy, fulfilling life. That personal journey transformed me.

It inspired a mission in me—to stand beside other mothers and families walking similar paths, often feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unheard. I wanted to create a space that not only supports children with Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders but also uplifts the parents who love and fight for them every single day.

And so, Beyond Barriers was born—right in the heart of Mirpur, Dhaka—with a small group of children who deserved nothing less than the chance to grow with dignity, support, and joy. With time, faith, and the unwavering support of our community, we expanded our reach. Today, we’re proud to have Beyond Horizon in Chittagong and Beyond Barriers || Gulshan in Dhaka, each center rooted in the same vision that started it all.

As a passionate advocate for children with unique needs, I am deeply committed to offering personalized, evidence-based interventions that empower every child to unlock their fullest potential. We believe that early, tailored support can change not only a child’s life but the entire family’s story.

Our team of dedicated professionals works hand in hand with families to design individualized plans that foster growth, independence, and confidence.
